I'm a proud alumna of the George Washington University, specifically its School of Media and Public Affairs and the Elizabeth Somers Women's Leadership Program. Go Revolutionaries!
While I do not currently conduct research on food politics, it became one of my major interests in grad school. During the university's January term, I helped Politics Professor Paul Freedman with his class on the Politics of Food and I was the program coordinator for the Morven Summer Institute, an interdisciplinary summer program that offers classes in politics, environmental science and architecture at UVA's beautiful Morven Farm.
I love playing sports, particularly soccer, volleyball and softball. My graduate school intramural team, Shock & Awe, played everything from softball to volleyball to soccer throughout the year. In DC, I play soccer with District Sports. I also enjoy watching the US Women's National Team and National Women's Soccer League, especially the Washington Spirit.
